The Tiny Human and I have been co-sleeping for a wee while now. It all started because our last house was quite cold, he was a touch upset from teething (I think) and he just didn't want to sleep in his bed.
However now that we are two months away from our Christmas trip north to where the weather is warmer, I have realised this co-sleeping thing will be a bit too hot in the muggy Waikato & Auckland weather.
Last night was step one of the "Get the Tiny Human back into his bed" mission. We moved his bed (the portacot) into our bedroom, put him in it and waited to see what would happen. Fifteen or Twenty minutes later the Tiny Human was sick of amusing himself with his teddy moth bear and started making noise, so we brought him to bed with us. Tonight we are going to try again, hopefully he will last a little longer, and eventually he will fall asleep in his bed.
I use to wait till he was asleep on my lap, then transfer him to his bed. However, now that the Tiny Human is much heavier a smooth transfer is in the impossible basket.
Tomorrow I will try putting the Tiny Human in his bed for daytime naps; it was meant to happen today, but I totally forgot.
